The Boston Occupier, was an independent newspaper born in 2011 after The Occupy Boston movement. It had a circulation of 25 thousand, and was originally called The Occupy Boston Globe. The name was changed to avoid confusion with The Boston Globe and express originality. The Boston Occupier was founded through contributors accumulating over $9,000 on Kickstarter; a website that promotes funding for projects ran by independent creators. The newspaper ceased distribution in 2012.
